About this course
The Instituto Cervantes, the official Spanish Government Centre, is a public institution founded in 1991 to promote Spanish language teaching and knowledge of the cultures of Spanish speaking countries throughout the world.
The Instituto Cervantes operates in 87 centres in 43 countries in the 5 Continents.
Instituto Cervantes of Kuala Lumpur and HELP are partners from 2003, being our location at HELP College the only location on Malaysia.
Our Spanish courses and services are aimed at anyone interested in learning Spanish, and the culture of Spain or other Spanish-speaking countries.
We offer Spanish classes for beginners, intermediate, advanced and proficiency students in classes for adults in our HELP College premises or at schools and companies.

At Aula Cervantes of Kuala Lumpur / HELPCAT, we provide Spanish courses which align with the syllabus for the preparation of DELE Exam, which is organized by the Spanish government and recognized worldwide. At Aula Cervantes of Kuala Lumpur / HELPCAT, we offer Spanish language courses according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages:
The Common European Framework divides learners into three broad divisions that can be divided into six levels; for each level, it describes what a learner is supposed to be able to do in reading, listening, speaking and writing. These levels are:
A LEVEL GROUP – BASIC USER
LEVEL A1 (BREAKTHROUGH OR BEGINNER)
Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type.
Can introduce themselves and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people they know and things they have.
Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.
LEVEL A2 (WAYSTAGE OR ELEMENTARY)
Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).
Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
Can describe in simple terms aspects of their background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.
B LEVEL GROUP – INDEPENDENT USER
LEVEL B1 (THRESHOLD OR INTERMEDIATE)
Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.
Can deal with most situations likely to arise while travelling in an area where the language is spoken.
Can produce simple connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest.
Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
LEVEL B2 (VANTAGE OR UPPER INTERMEDIATE )
Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in their field of specialization.
Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party.
Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.
C LEVEL GROUP – PROFICIENT USER
LEVEL C1 (EFFECTIVE OPERATIONAL PROFICIENCY OR ADVANCED)
Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer clauses, and recognize implicit meaning.
Can express ideas fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions.
Can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes.
Can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organizational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices.
LEVEL C2 (MASTERY OR PROFICIENCY)
Can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read.
Can summarize information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation.
Can express themselves spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations.
LEARNING SPANISH IN INSTITUTO CERVANTES OF KUALA LUMPUR

Instituto Cervantes is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the language & culture of Spain and other Spanish-speaking countries. It is the only center of its kind created and endorsed by the government of Spain.

It is the largest organization in the world that teaches non-native speakers Spanish, with 87 present in over 40 different countries.
3- Course Certificate from Instituto Cervantes
Students receive a certification of their participation once that the course has finished. (80% of attendance is compulsory and a final test needs to be taken).

Students have full borrowing privileges at Instituto Cervantes of Kuala Lumpur Library, one of the extensive collections of Spanish language and Hispanic cultural material in Kuala Lumpur.

Because of our commitment to the promotion of the Spanish language, at Instituto Cervantes of Kuala Lumpur you will have access to free conferences, concerts, film screenings and much more at our location in HELP College.

For each level, the class will only be started if there is at least 6 students in the class.
If there is not enough students for a semester in which you register, your fees paid will be brought forward to one semester if the class has at least 6 students, and you will be able to start attending the class. If the level you prefer to study does not have 6 students for two semester, your fees paid will be refunded to you.
Once you register, we presume that you accept this term and condition.

Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE) are official titles certifying degree of competence and mastery of the Spanish language, granted by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of Spain. The Instituto Cervantes organizes examination sessions, while the Universidad de Salamanca in Spain designs the exams, and is in charge of corrections and the final evaluation of all exams.
